Definitely identify with “ I see a random thing…in the hope of getting a text back.”

I realize that it is a need for a connection that goes beyond words to “are you thinking about me?”

As for kindness, it is the same - does her kindness for members of the same species and others get revealed or does it need a large amount of effort for her to see the goodness in others.

And the third for me - are the non-verbal communications through the other senses clicking with me to the point where I can only see her? This has never happened for me as early as the the third date because of the layers you mentioned. I am reminded of Shrek now lol!!

Thanks for the good insights!

Reading this brought back something inside of my soul that I had carefully hidden in a deep dark place... I was a teenager dipping my toes into the dating world and there was something about the second date that always ruined everything... I never had a third date with anyone until I was well in my 20s. Why is this out!? Bury it back!!

Yes! This. Date threes are still strangers really. Which I must remember.

Lucy, that sounds just about right. If there is no attachment after three dates it's time to move on. Time is precious!

This is so relevant to me right now.. reckon it might have been date 4 or 5.. I also get totally drawn into solving puzzles which is why I’m good at my job but not helpful in any way when it comes to dating 🤦🏻‍♀️

We are deeply curious people (aka overthinkers?!) so this puzzle solving can be easy to get drawn into… I’m trying to stay ‘in the moment’!
