This is the sort of attitude Iā€™m coming to as well - a big enabling factor has been designing the big building blocks of my life so that it will be fine if I never find a partner. Proximity to friends and family are key there.

Also, do you have a recipe for apple and cinnamon cake? šŸ¤¤

Hahaha! Try being 66 years old and looking at dating apps šŸ™„ Iā€™ve never seen so many ugly men with issues! I finally said to hell with it. I have a few ā€œboy toysā€ I can call on if needed but at this point I think Iā€™ll settle for staying single!!

Yes Lucy! I also wasted time going on dates I knew wouldn't be right but now I filter hard so my dating life feels like a lot of sitting at home. Sometimes I wobble and think I'm doing it wrong and people (with zero experience) often advise me to lower my standards and I'm like... I wish I could but I can't force it. Anyway I wrote about how dating with an open mind doesn't work: https://open.substack.com/pub/tiffanyphilippou/p/dating-with-an-open-mind-doesnt-work?r=2d0v&utm_campaign=post&utm_medium=web

Thanks for writing this ā¤ļø

Above is the recipe. Itā€™s definitely not bread! More like a Danish pastry cake. Itā€™s delicious!

Now youā€™ve done it! I have to make this cake now!!!

Hi Lily, so glad to hear you are creating them. I think everyone needs to have those building blocks in place regardless of whether they have a partner or not.

Thank you, Tiff, and I really like your post too. Youā€™re definitely doing nothing wrong. I trust my instincts now and feel far less FOMO / ā€˜what ifā€™ and itā€™s such a relief.

I loved how authentic you are here and on the podcast. For me, you saved the best for last on the podcast.

"I think if we can express ourselves and be vulnerable, we will better understand each other and build better relationships."

That is what Lucy is about :)
